Our journey started with an early flight with Flyr
(First time taking it and it was great!)
from Oslo,
and we landed at Mallorca before noon.
From the airport,
we took a taxi to our first hotel...
The taxi trip took us around 45 minutes
to the hotel Universal Casa Marquesa at Sant Jordi.
On the way there,
it was a lot interesting stuffs to look at....
from the old windmills
(we could already see them from the plane in the sky)
to GIANT cacti...
Where we stayed was actually an area that produces salt,
Ses Salines;
It was our first time seeing a salt production kind of place...
After checking in,
we had our lunch at Cafè & Sal....
and after the lunch,
we started exploring the beach right beside the hotel.
Before our dinner,
we went to see the more happening town area...
But the entire area was pretty quiet...
Besides the reasons that shops and restaurants either opened earlier or later,
the main reason was because it wasn't peak season at that time...
We wanted to eat in the town area but it wasn't many good options.
So we went back to the hotel
and managed to catch up with the second buffet seasons they had.
For the price
(as I remember it was 20 Euro),
it was really a great deal.
**One can probably get cheaper price with dinners
by booking directly both room and meals from the hotel website
The next day,
after having breakfast,
it was time to explore the town area more...
This time around,
we walked towards the pier again, but using another route...
The giant cacti
always fascinated us!
From Sant Jordi de les Salines
(the local church)
to the beach Es Port...
That's all for local exploration that day.
The rest was work and beach for me...
Well... no complain really,
when I could combine work and travel!
The next day,
we decided to take a bus tour to the famous Cala d'Or!
We had to first take the bus from
Campos...
we could see
lots of nice windmills
and (nice) cyclists.
Mallorca is a popular place
for cyclists to cycle around the island!
and the bus also stopped
at many nice places around Cala d'Or.
But we decided to take the bus all the way almost until the final stop...
Cala Esmeralda.
And yes,
I must say the views and landscapes were totally
different from where we stayed.
all the interesting white apartments,
houses in this area...
We wandered around the area,
and decided to head back
as the rest were pretty much the same...
(beach, blue water, stones... )
One thing that I could remember for the bus tour
was an area with very narrow streets
and of course how amazing the bus driver's driving skill was :)
From Cala d'Or,
we went to Santanyi....
A small town
with very nice market!
We decided to stop at this
Bar Sa Plaça to have our early dinner.
The food was really good there!
The next day,
we moved to another part of the Mallorca island...
