On our way back from Hammerfest
to Alta,
and then,
lunch at Alta senter,
Aranya thai restaurant...
**Felt the irritation again when I blogged,
thinking about their "buffet"**
But after having lunch,
everything was so great again,
thanks to
Holmen Husky Lodge!
We arrived there super early,
and could not check it.
But they offered us wifi,
and a cosy living room to rest
+ sleep lol!
And of course,
a lot of huskies to look at!!!
After taking our nap,
we went to Alta Museum...
to buy something that we have always been collecting -
fridge magnet!!
After returning to Holmen Husky Lodge,
we were asked to check in early...Yeay!
They have 8 lavvos in total,
and we got one that is named Grouse!
**Amazing apple who has traveled with us
from Oslo to Malangen,
then from Malangen to Nordkapp
and now Alta :)
At first we thought we might hear those huskies
bark a lot.
But surprisingly not so much!
Those of them who were awake did not make much noise...
Most of them slept quietly inside the kennel,
while others curled up their bodies and slept outside
**in the rain that day**.
At Holmen Husky Lodge,
they have shared bathrooms,
and in the same building,
they have cosy living rooms,
sauna and jacuzzi facilities as well :)
Everything at Holmen Husky Lodge feels
eco friendly and "organic"...
Even this hanging stuff is made by skin,
not plastic :)
The next morning,
we had our breakfast
with huskies accompanying us...
**Probably their food-feeding time too**
and not to forget,
a cute cat too!
After greeted goodbye by this handsome husky
on an nice old sledge,
we headed back South
to Malangen.
On our way back,
we stopped by two friends to visit them,
and were not supposed to have any extra overnight.
However,
with the north norwegians' kindness and hospitality,
it was so hard to decline an invitation to overnight...
That's all about our trip from the north to the further north....
After that trip,
we were on the road again,
back to further south :)
Of course,
this time we had to stop by at our favourite
dining place at Gällivare,
Peking Palace!
**Their buffet price did not increase much after many years**
Our last time dining there
was before pandemic!
As always,
we liked to try out new places...
and this time we tried
Arvidsjaur,
overnight place - Lumi Guesthouse.
Very cosy guesthouse,
great facilities with freezers,
kitchen, etc.
And we also took a quick walk
at the "town center" :)
and had a taste of
Räk och Laxbakelse (swedish dish)
which means Shrimp and Salmon Pastry :)
**Interesting sweet and salty combo**
The next day,
we drove from Arvidsjaur to Mora....
a familiar town to us,
and we tried out
Saxvikens vandrarhem,
which was very OK as well!
