On our ninth day of the trip,
we took an early train
from Bratislava to Budapest...
and this morning train had
more train cars
so we all had very comfortable seats this time...
The train ticket from Bratislava
to Budapest
can only be bought at Bratislava train station...
and it is a day trip ticket,
where you can use it for any trip on that day itself....
From Bratislava to Budapest,
we passed through all kind of places
from field to mountain
to
one place that didn't even have a signal...
After 2.5 hours train journey,
we arrived at our final stop...
BUDAPEST!
Right beside the main train station
(Budapest-Nyugati)
is this shopping center,
We withdrew some money there,
and headed to the tram station...
From the tram station,
we headed to our 'apartment' in Budapest...
and a good tip about traveling cheap as a group in Budapest
is to buy their group ticket!
We arrived at the neighborhood
where we had our apartment.
After the 'long' travel,
we were hungry so we decided to eat at this indian restaurant,
Tandoori Indiai Étterem
which is super close to the apartment.
The food was nice
and the price was cheap...
After the lunch,
we didn't want to go too far from the apartment
because it was just one more hour to our check-in time.
So we walked around at the neighborhood,
from their local shop...
to this nice church,
and this nice park....
lol!
So,
the time has finally arrived
and we were allowed to check in...
The apartment that we were staying
was this
Maple Tree Apartment...
All I could say is
it is really good for its value...
and we also got a balcony,
which was really fun to sit there
and follow what was going on around us...
After a few hours of resting,
we went out
and along the way to Corvin,
we just realized how good the Hungarian parking and driving skills are...
(they do have very narrow streets)
From Corvin,
we took a tram
to the river bank....
The moment we arrived at the river bank,
we were just simply amazed with
the beauty of Budapest!
We came to Shoes on the Danube Bank,
(Cipők a Duna-parton)...
and then
Országház,
The Hungarian Parliament Building.....
Lots of famous,
amazing statues and monuments
in this place...
We spent like half an hour
walking around this area....
and then we realized,
the sky was getting darker
and we had to head back
to get some food...
We were back to Corvin,
and lucky enough,
after some search around the neighborhood,
when we were just about to give up on asian food,
this chinese fast food restaurant 'popped' out in front of us!
The food was just so-so
but we at least settled our dinner!
To be continued...
XOXO
