**Ah finally I have time to blog about this trip!
But this procrastination was for a good cause...
For this year's Easter holidays,
we originally had planned for a trip to Brussels and then
from there taking Eurostar to London...
However, the trip did not go so well as planned!
Everything started great,
we landed in Brussels airport,
embarked the local train...
experienced this double-decker coach,
took selfie...
enjoyed the nice views all the way from the airport to city center....
The weather was so nice,
and I was already starting planning
what to do once we got off from the train....
and after 5 minutes we left the train,
we realized our backpack
was GONE!
We were not really sure what had happened,
but it wasn't with us anymore!
I immediately ran back to the train,
and the train just left right in front of me!
We straight away made the report at the central station,
hoping that the conductor could check for us when stopping at the next stop.
However,
things did not go like what we had hoped.
After making the report at the central station,
waiting for sometimes but still got no news at all,
we were told to come back tomorrow,
or just wait for them to contact us.
Although Arne was already pretty lost and tired
after experiencing all these mess,
he still remembered that we needed to make a police report.
So we went from Brussel central station to
the nearest police station...
Walked pass Mont des Arts,
the famous statue Statue du Roi Albert 1er...
and finally we arrived at the police station.
I tried my very best to lift Arne up...
and you could probably see the difference of his expression
in the pics from the central station and this one!
The entire process took us almost 2 hours...
and after that,
we dragged our suitcase
and went to the hotel.
Since almost everything was already
closed at that time,
I simply had to find a nearby convenience store
to buy us some food....
**red wine was already bought at the central station
when we were waiting for the news about our missing backpack
lol!
The next day,
we headed to the Malaysian embassy first...
Since we were super early,
we had a quick stop at the central station again
to check if there was any good news but no....
We were again back to Mont des Arts
(LOVE this statue by Eugène Canneel)
and took a tram to another side of the city....
The officer at the Malaysian embassy was super friendly,
pointed out the mistakes that police officer had made on the police report,
and told me to come back tomorrow with passport pictures and amended police report.
For Arne,
he called the Norwegian embassy,
and everything seemed to be closed throughout the entire Easter holiday,
so the best thing he could do is to fly back to Norway.
As there was nothing much we could really do at that moment,
we tried our best to tour around,
do some sight-seeing....
Of course we went to the very famous
Grand Place....
The surrounding was just breathtaking
although it was raining at that time...
We walked pass the Jacques Brel Statue,
on the search for the famous Manneken Pis!
We spotted a group of people ahead of us,
and were pretty sure that
the renowned statue was located there!
And yes!
We were correct!
After that,
we bumped into another quite famous statue,
Madame Chapeau...
had our yummy Belgian waffle
(to comfort us a bit after not being able to make changes
to the police report due to the stupid system)...
and then headed back
to the hotel.
To be continued...
XOXO
