From the old part,
I walked up the 'hill'...
towards Place Jacques-Cartier.
Passed by Nelson's Column,
Montreal City Hall,
Vauquelin Place,
etc etc...
Toronto van attack happened
when I was at Montreal.
That's why the flags were at half-staff...
After passing Champ-de-Mars park,
I ended up at 'interesting' neighborhood...
I walked all the way to UQAM,
had a look at the popular Cathédrale Saint-Jacques de Montréal
which was having renovation at that time...
Not to forget,
the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Chapel
From UQAM I took the subway
to Guy-Concordia...
Besides the nice street arts,
another thing that one shouldn't miss at this area
is this Di-Octo Sculpture!
After that,
I rushed myself to Cote-Sainte-Cathrine,
walked to a bus station,
took bus 51...
and arrived at my last destination
of my list,
Saint Joseph's Oratory!
The moment I reached there,
I was like...
'Am I really going to take my suitcase all the way to the church??'
And the answer
was YES!
There was nothing else I could do...
except dragging all the way up
all THESE stairs!
I hid my suitcase
behind some bushes
and had a very very quick visit of this catholic church and museum.
The church is HUGE,
and I did manage to visit every single 'section' of it
in 30 minutes!!!
The hard work of dragging my suitcase there
paid off with very nice view
of Montreal.
So,
after visiting Saint Joseph's Oratory,
I headed straight to Lionel-Groulx
to grab the bus to the airport!
While waiting for the bus,
I was surprised to see another nice church in this neighborhood,
Saint Irenaeus Church.
I had a nice burger king meal
at the airport
before I went for my boarding.
Direct flight from Montreal to Amsterdam,
then Amsterdam to Oslo!
That's all for my 3-days trip in Montreal!
XOXO
