Our trip to Lofoten started
with a 7-hour drive with
rain, storm, a bit sun....
all the way from Malangen to Kabelvåg.
We arrived at
Nyvågar Rorbuhotell - by Classic Norway Hotels...
and the rorbu we got
(Norwegian traditional type of seasonal house used by fishermen, normally located in a fishing village)
was just AMAZING!!!
Our rorbu was at the very end...so it felt like we had the space to ourselves
and of course privacy!
And the view from our rorbu was
simply breathtaking!!!!
Since the weather was pretty good,
I spent some time walking around the hotel....
Right next to the hotel
is this Lofot-Aquarium...
and they have a "observation deck" kind of thing...
From the hotel to the "city center" of Kabelvåg
took us about 15 minutes of walking.
and from the centrum,
we walked to the Vågan church...
After walking around the church,
we took another road
and went back to the centrum
and had our dinner
at Pattareeya’s Thai Restaurant.
The food was OK :)
Since it wasn't so much to explore at Kabelvåg,
we went back to the hotel
and enjoyed our evening at the cozy rorbu....
The next day,
we drove from Kabelvåg to
Å,
a small town where European route E10 highway ends!
Our luck wasn't that great this time around
so it was a very windy, wet and greyish day at Lofoten....
Well, that's typical summer day in the north
and we got to see different kind of view of Lofoten, lol!
After 2-3 hour drive,
driving through this part of highway named King Olav's Road,
we arrived at Å.
Of course we couldn't just take a U-turn and went back,
we needed to see Å as well!
