During the very last weekend
of our summer holiday in the north,
we had great luck with the weather
taking this trip to Blåvatnet.
Arne had read about the place,
and it was only about 2.5 hours driving from Malangen.
So, it was in a way strange that he had never been there!
Everything was already looking
AMAZING on our way from Nordkjosbotn to Blåisvatnet...
We drove through a couple of tunnels,
some fjords and villages....
The closer we were approaching the destination,
the water there seemed to be "bluer"!
Even the hay balls were blue! Lol!
After struggling a bit to find the place,
(Google map guided us to the wrong place),
we finally managed to find the car park for this tour area....
and officially started the trip,
which supposed to be around 4km.
We walked through some wood pieces,
wooden pathway,
crossed the river,
climbed up some hills,
then more hills,
and then LOTS of stones....
The 4km-trip didn't feel like it was only
4km!!!
So we had to take some breaks,
pass by some underwears that hang there on a tree...
(YES! UNDERWEAR)
After about 1.5 hour of walking,
finally we arrived at the destination!!!
We were there around 12 noon
so there was not much shadow
and the water looked simply crystal blue!
Since it was so warm that day,
some people even bathed in the icy blue water :)
We secured us a good spot,
had a break and
ate our packed lunch (matpakke).
After spending 20-30 minutes there,
we left....
What a wonderful trip when the weather was GREAT!
and it was a perfect way to end our summer holiday.
XOXO
