When we travelled to Riga,
the city was actually sorta having another lockdown
with curfews between 8pm and 5am,
and restrictions such as using face masks at shops that were open,
only takeaway for catering, etc.
So our first evening at Riga:
Takeaway from Hesburger & eating out on the street,
and desserts from Rimi.
The next day,
we had to scan our corona registered QR code,
picked up our buffet breakfast,
and ate it in the room.
Well, look at the positive side,
that actually saved up a lot of time!
We started our first sightseeing attraction
at this...
The sculpture "Town Musicians of Bremen",
The story was about
four ageing animals, i.e. a donkey, dog, cat and cockerel,
which are worried that they are abiut to be put down....
and end up running away to Bremen to become musicians.
The myth was one should touch their heads to get good luck.
But during this pandemic time,
no touching thanks!
This statue is located besides
St. Peter's Church.
After that,
we went to the Town Hall Square,
visited the House of Blackheads...
and
Museum of the Occupation.
Since all the shops were closed,
we could only do window shopping...
and that also saved
our time...
and money!!! lol!
Next stops were Riga Cathedral and Our Lady of Sorrows Church...
and we were just simply amazed with the design of the buildings here
while walking around these places....
