Every year summer holiday,
we decide to do something new,
visit somewhere we have never been.
And this year,
we decided to drive even more north
to Nordkapp!
As always,
we had travel-fever,
and woke up super early that time
to start our journey...
Starting journey early
in the north is always not an issue!
Since it is already bright,
and for that day,
the weather was simply
PERFECT!
Besides stopping for toilet,
stretching our legs,
we also stopped to visit people....
and not to forget,
photo taking for amazing place like
Kvænangsfjellet!
After 6 hours of driving,
we finally arrived in Alta!
We first visited the very famous
Cathedral of The Northern Lights....
The cathedral is right beside
the main shopping center in Alta.
So it was nice just to park there (**Not free though as customers),
do our shoppings
before heading to our very first overnight place
for this road trip.
We stayed at this very cosy camping site,
Camping Solvang, at Transfarelvmoen
which was around 10 km from Alta.
With this trip,
I have explored lots of
the possibilities of utilizing the rice cooker.
This dinner was made in Malangen,
and kept warm for more than 6 hours!
After the dinner,
we had a small walk around the area...
**Lots of cute squrrels
at this camping site.
Are you able to spot one
in this picture? :)
The next day,
almost the same like all our trips,
we woke up early again and drove early.
But this time it was a bit special,
because Arne barely slept!!
The further north we drove,
the more unique landscape it became....
We drove through mountains,
on super straight roads,
with surroundings that were
super flat and empty....
Although it was damn early
(around 4-5am),
we were not totally alone....
Many people have told us that,
to have a nice view at Nordkapp can be
very very challenging!
It is not sufficient with no rain,
and being sunny....
the temperature has to be right as well
so that it is not too foggy there!
We drove through tunnels,
passed by small villages,
with very unstable weather....
We were excited,
yet nervous....
very afraid that we might not be able to see anything
at Nordkapp!
To be continued....
XOXO
