Our day started early
with the early bus from Krakow to Ostrava...
Although Krakow is a pretty big city,
the facilities and infrastructures
at the main bus terminal
seemed pretty old fashioned to me...
Anyway,
after overcoming all small troubles,
we managed to board on our bus...
The only 'big' city that the bus stopped
at is this Katowice,
an industrial oriented city...
Otherwise,
it was just a lot of flat green fields...
After around 2.5 hours sitting in the bus,
we reached Ostrava!
We were dropped at the main train station
and based on google,
we were supposed to use 15 minutes
to walk to our hotel....
However,
our heavy luggage,
plus the bus dropped us at the train station instead of bus station
made our walking trip from 15 minutes to 30++ minutes!
Anyway,
we passed by this beautiful catholic church,
Kostel Neposkvrněného početí Panny Marie...
then some housing area,
industrial area...
and lastly,
we saw that we were approaching the city center!
We checked in at
Brioni Boutique Hotel
and then started to walk around in the city...
First thing first
was to get some food!
We went to this recommended asian restaurant,
Restaurant Hanoi...
We ordered four different dishes
and all of them served in a set,
with soup
(which was just ok)
but the food was nice
and in BIG portion!
I had a chance to try a new drink,
Kofola!
With so much food,
and beer
all we had to pay was 397 Czech Koruna
(150 NOK)!
After the satisfying lunch,
we visited this church
Cathedral of the Divine Saviour...
which is located right beside
Restaurant Hanoi...
From there,
we walked to the the city main square....
Ostrava Museum
and
Marian Plague Column
Then
the Puppet Theater
(our fridge magnet has a picture of it)
This one is
Fairytale cellar of monsters..
(WTH is that??)
Then we decided just to turn
and head back to the hotel
to rest....
because this East Europe trip would need more
energy in the next two cities...
As we walked,
I realized though this city is not a tourist city,
but it has quite a lot of big nice buildings..
like this one
Antonín Dvořák Theatre...
and this bank too....
To be continued...
XOXO
