23-03-2019 Bong & His First Trip to USA - Los Angeles

It was our first time taking American Airlines
and we were pretty satisfied....
OK food,
BIG amount of alcohol
(Just to get us sleep well I guess...)
and nice snacks...
The flight from London to Los Angeles
took about 10 hours...
and after we landed,
we took more than 1 hour
to go through the passport control and everything....
We were supposed to take Disneyland Express
which is a bus and not this minivan,
but the public transport system to other places from LAX was so bad....
so ended up we just said yes to this minivan express!
Of course,
we got to experience LA traffic
on our way from LAX to Anaheim.
After checking in to our hotel,
the first thing we did...
is to find the nearest convenience store that sells alcohol!
We simply chose this place for our very first dinner
in the USA
and it is actually a popular american table service dinner-style
restaurant chain!
The next day morning,
we woke up early,
had our 'american' breakfast....
then we went to LA downtown
for some sight-seeing
before I started with my conference-work....
We used Uber
to come to this Grand Central Market...
We arrived there around 10 in the morning
and it was still very quiet....
Grand Central Market is like a food court
where you can find lots of nice food at one place...
Since we just had our breakfast,
so we were not into looking for nice food....
But suddenly this shop sign caught my attention...
Yes... I remember now...
Kay recommended this!
While other stalls were still starting slow
with their business,
this EggSlut had already many customers queuing up at their stall.
I ordered their SLUT...
(Description from their menu:
cage-free coddled egg on top of smooth potato puree,
cooked in a glass jar topped with gray salt and chives,
served with slices of baguette)
and it was DELICIOUS!
After having SLUT,
then we headed to the Chinatown....
We explored the historic downtown area
in Los Angeles....
We passed by The Broad,
a museum for modern art...
Then the Walt Disney Concert Hall
and the beautiful
Grand Park...
Right beside the Grand Park
is the city hall....
We saw a lot of 'Ped Xing'
and didn't understand what it was....
After googling for its meaning,
now I know that it means pedestrian crossing! Lol
We walked around the city hall,
trying to find a way to go in...
But NO...
we couldn't find any entrance for visitors!
I guess it was because it is closed on Sunday....
Anyway,
we continued walking from there,
passing by Public Art "Triforium"
and arrived at this church,
Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church
It was packed with people
when we were there,
then we started to realize that...
the people were not there for Sunday prayer
but may be for wedding or something like that
since they were dressing in very formal way...
We left the church
and walked to the famous
Olvera Street!
To be continued...

XOXO
