30-11-2017 Bong & His Winter Update (Christmas Presents among Colleagues)

The person in charge of our floor Christmas 'lottery'
was away,
and two presents were left right outside her office.

Look like two candles,
or two cans of soft drinks,
don't they?

Lol!

27-11-2017 Bong & His First Time Tasting Panini

We started our shopping experince
at Golden Lane after visiting the
historical museum part...
This shop is one of the
museum plus sale combinations...
A lot of nice decoration things
they are selling
for Christmas, Easter day, etc..
After buying a nice porcelain deco
for our apartment,
we started to realize that
we were getting tired on our foots,
and a bit hungry too in our stomach~
So we went into this Black Tower cafe
at Prague Castle
and ordered this panini
which we thought it was something special in Czech Republic,
but I found out that
even 7 Eleven here in Oslo sells that too after we came back!
Anyway,
the panini tasted good,
and we got a bit rest before we continued to walk more!
We left the little cafe
and walked towards Vyhlídka u Černé věž,
which is an observation deck...
where you could enjoy the nice view
of Prague City
from here.
From there,
we continued our walk to
Garden on the Ramparts (Zahrada Na valech)...

then walked back to the stairs walkway
and passed by this vineyard....
even missed the chance
to try out the popular hot wine in Prague....
just to rush ourselves
down to Malostranská...
for our late lunch
since we were really really hungry!

To be continued...

24-11-2017 Bong & His First Faculty Family Day + Christmas PARTY

I have joined
the family of Høgskolen i Oslo og Akershus (HiOA)
since 2015 as an employee
But this year is my first time joining the 'biggest'
work event in Norway,
JULEBORD!
Julebordet,
it means Christmas Party in norwegian.
For our faculty,
we combined the 'family day' with the Christmas party.
The event started with lunch....
then some entertainment, presentation,
and group work....
My group made this table decoration,
and proudly to say,
though I couldn't contribute to the light stuffs,
it was me who made, cut most of the deco part!
The day event stopped at 5pm,
and everyone had one hour to change to their dinner dress.
That also gave time to the committee and working staffs
time to change the settings of family day
to this pretty Christmas party!!
Well,
you would probably wonder what kind of food we got
for the party...
2 glasses of wine.
White wine to the starter,
which was salmon,
and red wine to the main course,
which was ribbe.
Coffee was served together with the dessert,
which was norwegian 'rice cream' with some 'cherries'.
Sadly to say, the food was just so-so...
After the dinner,
the dining place was then cleared up
to make into this dance floor.

I left pretty early so I didn't know
how this event ended.
This is my first big and 'proper' julebord
with the university college colleagues,
and I am looking forward for my next one,
probably with better arrangement which allowed me to stay until the very end!

XOXO

19-11-2017 Bong & His First Time at Golden Lane

We came out from the beautiful St. Vitus Cathedral
and our next 'stop' was the Old Royal Palace.
It started raining when we were about
to go inside...
There was not so much to see on the ground floor.
We spent not more than 5 minutes there....
and then proceeded to the first floor.
The stairs going up to were super narrow by the way.
The whole royal palace
was actually just 'so-so',
especially for people like us who are not so very interested in historical stuffs.
Well,
it was quite surprising though to see the royal palace
also has a spot that looks like
it doesn't belong there. Lol!
Within 20 minutes,
we were already done with the palace....
We passed by St. George's Basilica on the left
(though our tickets were inclusive of that),
and Rosenberg Palace on the right...
St. George's Basilica looks also very nice from the outside,
but we were already tired of church and people
at that time...
So we just continued walking...
to some places that seemed quieter...
and we ended up at the Golden Lane!
It is a narrow lane,
with small colorful houses
that have been turned into small museums
and cozy shops....
We started our journey there
with the museums or exhibitions first.
Through small and narrow stairs,
we came to the first floor
with tiny narrow walkways...
From ancient army weapons,
to costumes...
and 'container'
to protect the little willy...
not to forget,
a nice view of Prague from there too....
we think this place is slightly more interesting
than the royal palace!
Lol!
Though I didn't want to sound racist or even judgmental,
I had to say...
the first thing that came into my mind looking at a hole
and LOTS of coins,
it was 'Chinese tourist'! lol
It was really a lot more to see
at this exhibition place at Golden Lane
than the Old Royal Palace.
But Arne was already getting bored with
these old stuffs
and all he wanted was to look and shop
at those small cozy shops...

To be continued....
