30-11-2018 Bong & Family Trip in Bratislava (Day 6- From Ostrava to Bratislava)

Our train trip from Ostrava to Bratislava
was super interesting....
From entering the wrong wagon
(first class)
to not able to
find any seats
because the train had less wagon
and it was a lot of passengers....
There were some nice views
but pappa just slept
and slept....
We passed by some cities
and not to forget...
the border between Czech Republic
and Slovakia...
Since we had to stand for so long time,
we decided to go to the restaurant in the train
to sit for a while...
and also
enjoy some drinks
After about 3 hours,
we finally reached Bratislava!
Well,
I must say that
my first impression of Bratislava is that....
it is a pretty
'old-fashioned' city....
We took bus from central station
to our hotel...
And all went pretty easy.....
We came to the river side,
walked for about 10 minutes
from the bus stop
to our hotel
on a
BOAT!
Yes,
this hotel Botel Pressburg
is a boat hotel
on Donau river...
But of course,
it is attached
to the land so we were not going
to end up at another place
when we got up the next day...
After checking in
and resting,
we went out to explore the neighborhood.
The food price at restaurants there
are super expensive...
So we decided to go another area.
We took the tram,
ended up stopping at
Šafárikovo nám.
Then found this
italian restaurant
La Vecchia Bottega
which was still open late on a sunday evening...
The atmosphere was cosy
and we were the only one sitting
on the first floor.
Food was just ok
and we paid 35 euro for
a dinner for four....
The next day,
pappa mamma (of course) woke up earlier than us,
and we all sat at the top floor
of the hotel...
having nice breakfast
and enjoying the nice view of
Danau river.
After a heavy and delicious breakfast,
we were all ready for our second day
in Bratislava!
To be continued...

25-11-2018 Bong & Family Trip in Ostrava (Day 5- A Memorable Hotel)

The hotel that we stayed at,
Brioni Boutique Hotel
was just perfect.
We got an upgraded suite
and the breakfast was great....
Not to forget the terrace and also sauna...
P.S. Sauna is not included in room rate
The hotel itself is located at the bar street.
So it was pretty noisy
when we had to sleep.
On our next day in Ostrava,
we went to a nearby big shopping mall....
This shopping mall,
OC FORUM Nová Karolina
is super big....
And it has a lot of nice shops
with offer nice stuffs at good prices!
Too bad shopping is not everyone's
cup of tea...
But Arne and I did enjoy the shopping there!
So after a while,
we left the shopping mall...
and began with more
sight-seeing in this
third biggest city in Czech Republic!
With the help of Google Maps,
and our adventurous attitudes,
we managed to come to this park...
that offers both a nice walk in the nature
and also tourist attractions such as this
Slezskoostravský hrad (Silesian Ostrava Castle).
We assumed it is just another castle kind of thing
so we did not enter...
From there,
we ended up passing by
a petrol station...
We had a little break
then continued our journey
walking back to the hotel.
We passed by this interesting
building....
Radnice Slezské Ostravy
(Silesian Ostrava Town Hall)
then crossed this
Most Miloše Sýkory
bridge back to the city centre.
For dinner,
I found this nearby asian restaurant
Restaurace Rong Vang
from Google Map...
The food was pretty nice
and they were cheap for rather big portion!
521 Czech Kroner (20 Euro/ 200 NOK) for
2 dishes, 4 people!
The next day,
we used the local tram
to go to the main train station.
From there,
we were supposed to take train
to Bratislava...
We had our tickets already ready since
I purchased long time ago from
the Slovakia train website...
We were all excited to board the train
but the train was delayed...

To be continued...
XOXO
