30-09-2019 Bong & His First Trip to Besar Island Part 4 - Pulau Besar-Mersing-Kluang-Gemas-Sungai Petani

Our last day at Pulau Besar
was a short one with breakfast,
then packed and said goodbye to this beautiful place!
We took the rocky boat
back to Mersing...
Then we went to the bus station
to proceed to our next stop...
After having the good 'tapao' food
(take-away food)...
we took this bus
to go to Kluang to attend a good friend's wedding!
The bus journey to this city,
took less than 2 hours...
and it was super easy to take grab
from bus terminal to the wedding's place.
After the wedding dinner,
we were arranged transport by the bride and groom
to the train station since there was no more grab available that late in the evening...
(SUPER thankful!!)
The train station was quiet
and a bit dark...
and right beside the train station,
is this very famous
Kluang Rail Coffee that many people recommended us....
but of course,
at 11 pm the shop was already close.
Our midnight train was a bit delayed
but we were happy that everything went pretty smoothly....
We arrived at Gemas around 4am,
checked in at this transit hotel,
Hotel Tropicana....
(totally OK for a few hours transit time)
then around 7++ am,
we were ready for the train to Sungai Petani!
I sent Arne to the train station first,
and ran to this breakfast shop, Nam Fatt noodles
to buy some 'dramatic' breakfast for us....
After around 7 hours,
we arrived at Sungai Petani....
and that's all for our trip to the south!

21-09-2019 Bong & His First Trip to Besar Island Part 3

After the walk,
we took some rests at the room
and all of a sudden,
it was already time for food again!
We had our lunch,
and got informed that the 'captain' thought it was too dangerous
to go to snorkeling
due to the big waves....
Since we had already paid for the snorkeling
as part of the package with Aseania Resort,
they decided to compensate us
with seafood meal.
There are other activities that
one can 'rent' from the resort....
Since we couldn't go snorkeling,
we decided to do something special...
We took a trip
that probably not so many visitors there had taken...
which was a trip
to the 'secret beach'!
The jungle trekking
took about 40 minutes one way
and it was a bit physical challenging for us
who are not in top form for 'extreme sport'.
Lol!
Some of the trails were narrow
and steep.
So thank god they have hung ropes
for those trails...
After 40 minutes of jungle trekking,
we finally reached the secret beach...
Well,
this time
we had this whole beach to ourselves too!
We found some living creatures,
sea cucumber I supposed?
After spending almost an hour there,
we went back to the resort,
had another round swim at the pool
and then some rests....
Around 7++pm,
we went to the restaurant,
informed them the time we wanted our dinner to be served
and tada!
King prawn
and lobster!
Nam nam!
To be continued....

XOXO
