28-10-2018 Bong & Family Trip in Krakow (Day 2- Modern people in an old city)

The next morning after breakfast,
we walked back to the medieval town square,
and my first desired sightseeing destination...
is this catholic cathedral,
St. Mary's Basilica
(Bazylika Mariacka).
Too bad we couldn't really find the entrance for tourists
who were without joining tour...
So we just left and
continued walking to our next destination.
We came to another church,
with all the nice statues surrounding its entrance...
This church,
St. Andrew's Apostle Church
(Kościół św. Andrzeja)
It was built in the 11th century
,played the role of fortress
and served the inhabitants of the town as a shelter
when the town was in danger.
After that we walked our way towards
the river side
(Vistula River)...
We slowly approached this amazing place,
Wawel Royale Place,
passed by the famous Sandomierska Tower,
Baszta Sandomierska...
then enjoyed the amazing view of Krakow
and Vistula River from there....
You have to pay
to enter the Royale Place
and other tourist attractions there...
We were not so very interested...
but this Dragon's Den
seemed more exciting.
We completed our free sight-seeing
at the Royal Palace...
and then it was time to buy the tickets
and walk down this Dragon's Den!
The tickets for four costed 12 PZL
(26 NOK)
and it is a shortcut for us
from the Royal Palace to the riverbank!
The stair is pretty dark
and on the ground
we came to this cave like kind of place...
We came out from the exit
and was wondering very much
where is the DRAGON!
OK!
It is at the outside!
The weather was just so so nice
and we had a slow nice walk along the riverbank...
From there,
we walked back to the university route...
After so much walking,
we were just tired on our feet
and hungry in our stomach.....
We found this very cozy local restaurant,
Polskie Smaki...
had some local
food and drinks...
and
continued the 'marathon' again....
From tourist attractions
to their local polish pottery...
it was just so much
to see and do
in this old city....
We took some rest at the guesthouse
before we went out again for dinner and stuffs....
From the guesthouse,
we passed by Bazylika św. Floriana w Krakowie...
then walked to this Galeria Krakowska
shopping mall....
They have a big food court,
with fast food (like KFC)
and many other options of food...
So we all managed to find
something that matched our taste!
Not to forget alcohol
in the Carrefour store as well...

To be continued...
XOXO
