30-12-2024 Bong & His Thirteen Post in 2024 - Singapore in Jan

On our way back from Malaysia to Norway,
we had a four-day stopover in Singapore....
We did not do much on the first day we landed,
just took a taxi from airport to hotel,
had a rest, dinner and that was it!
However, the next day was full of activities.
We started the day with taking MRT to the Raffles Place.
We walked along the Singapore River,
passed by many charming local stuffs,
tall buildings,
interesting statues,
etc. etc...
and finally,
we arrived at Merlion!
First time for Arne,
and I had been there....when I was a kid! lol
So, it was also long time ago!
From there,
we crossed the Jubilee Bridge,
passed by the Esplanade,
which is a theatre, concert hall & studio complex
with durian-shaped domes.
And then
we ended up Raffles City!
A place with a nice food court
(meaning cheaper food in Singapore),
and a NICE view!
We had our brunch there,
and after that we continued our sight-seeing,
walking pass St Andrew's Cathedral, and
visiting a Burmese shopping mall.
Our next stop was Fort Canning Park.
But before reaching there,
this Old Hill Street Police Station really caught my attention!
So pretty with the rainbow-ish colors!!!
It was quite nice to walk in the park,
with plenty of greenery and, of course, shade!
But still, it felt really hot because the humidity was HIGH!
So we took an escape and
found some chills in the museum
with aircon!
**And historical stuffs of course lol!
After visiting the museum and the park,
we went to the next tourist attraction...
where people were queueing up there
just to take a photo/ photos.
This insta/ tourist place is called
Fort Canning Tree Tunnel....
and of course,
we did not queue up as we were on a tight schedule.
We "ran" to the other side of the road,
and came to Istana Park...
After visiting it,
we headed to Clarke Quay to
meet up with my cousin :)
After meeting up with him,
he brought us to Song Fa Bak Kut Teh
for a light lunch...
Of course,
we needed to queue here,
as Song Fa is damn famous for their Singaporean Bak Kut Teh!
Nam nam!
The waiting was worth it!
Next stop - Chinatown!
And it was perfect for Arne,
as he was looking for his "souvenir" :)
**Luckily he managed to get it**
Lots of interesting stuffs and people here,
but the most interesting thing to me
was to visit an old temple,
in the middle of all these modern stuffs!
Another big surprise with this
Buddha Tooth Relic Temple
was its amazing orchid garden
at the rooftop!
To be continued....
XOXO
