18-08-2020 Bong & His Yearly Summer Holiday Part 3 - Senja From Its Nordic Beauty to 'South' (Syden) Charm

After coming out from the tunnel,
we arrived at this scenic Fjordgård...
We drove down to
the 'main road' area
(where they have the shops)
then drove to the parking area
for hikers at Segla Trail Head....
with a unique reason...
which was to find a toilet!
After enjoying the nice view
and utilizing the public toilet facilities there,
we continued driving to the next village...
Since all these roads
and tunnels are pretty narrow,
there are plenty of M (møteplass - meeting place)
where there are enough space for two cars to meet,
one to wait for another one to pass by....
We drove at the other side of the fjord
facing the other side of Segla,
Okshornan/Djevelens tanngard...
Through the tunnels,
salmon farms
fjords, waterfalls, etc and etc...
we arrived at another fishing village....
Mefjordvær.
and after driving around at Mefjordvær
without any stop,
we continued to drive to Ersfjord...
All of a sudden,
the scenery changed from Nordic to South European....
White sand beaches
with blue sky
and shining big sun....
There were tones of people
at this Ersfjordstranda
(Ersfjord beach) when we drove by....
Arne had to drive super slow
passing by cars that were
both driving and parking there...
which was good
to give me some time
to take some nice pictures of this amazing beach
from the car.
We drove further
to Stenfjord then headed back to Silsand....
The scenery changed from
white sand beach
to forest and lakes...
not to forget,
mountain and waterfalls as well....
after a while,
we arrived at Silsand.
and we just had to stop at this restaurant again,
Senjastua
because I had a very very good experience
eating their set meal of the day
'saltkjøtt og flesk' ...
But too bad,
we did not see this on their menu at all...
So we just had to choose something else.
And we chose something that
we almost never made at home,
burger....

That's all about our Senja trip.
XOXO
