During our stay in Langkawi,
we also joined the island hopping trip...
The weather wasn't very great to begin with (quite cloudy).
The trip started at 930 am,
and the tour agent came to pick us up at our hotel.
We were brought to this pier/jetty kind of place,
given a sticker after payment,
and then assigned to a boat
full of other passengers! lol
We were of course not the only one.
So there were other boats
around us...
Our first (unofficial) "stop" was somewhere in the middle of nowhere
where the tour guide pointed to us
"this is pulau (island) xxx)".
Arne and I couldn't really hear what he said
as it was so much noise around us....
So the first official stop was this
Pulau Dayang Bunting....
where we were welcomed by monkeys!!
Dayang Bunting is actually a pretty big island,
size around 1/3 of Langkawi island,
with geoforest park,
lake,
hotels, etc.
What we signed up for,
was an entry to this park where we had to pay,
walking through the marble geoforest park...
and coming to this Lake of Pregnant Maiden
where we basically just stood there
and watched other visitors enjoying their water sports activities.
Not that the activities were bad,
this locker thingy looked really cool....
but we simply were not tempted to get ourselves wet for just an hour,
together with these lovely fishes that we could see from the platforms lol!
So we rather had a more peaceful walk
avoiding the crowd and walking back to the pier.
At that time there were still high pandemic cases in Malaysia,
and we really did not wish to stay longer in Langkawi than we had to!
Then the next stop,
which was also the most exciting part in my opinion....
Yes,
we had quick a bumpy ride from island to island...
All of the sudden,
the boat speed was lowered down
and we came to this area with other boats....
Here was our second stop,
Pulau Singa Besar,
where we could see the eagle feeding!!
There were thousands of eagles around us,
and some of them were very close to us!
Unfortunately I did not have a good camera to capture these spectacular moments!
But they were really eyes-opening!
Last stop,
Pulau Beras Basah....
Erk,
we were not too sure as well
why this wild boar would end up at this island...lol!
After visiting Maldives,
this kind of island, beach meant really nothing for us hehe!
Well, overall the island hopping trip wasn't that bad.
We were really not expecting much when we paid
RM 80 per person for this trip...
After the island hopping,
we asked the driver to drop us at Cenang beach....
in a way just to try out our luck with some good food....
And yes!
The restaurant that we wanted to try out was opened!
We already met two new friends the day before,
and one of them had been at this restaurant
"Putumayo" before...
So she ordered the food,
and even treated us (again)!
Many many thanks to our new friend Janrene!
We were looking forward to your visit to Norway and our turn to treat you good food here!
And yes,
thanks to Janrene
Arne skipped having Grab Food!
I tried my very best to find some free time in between work
to enjoy some pool time,
beach time,
and super cheap alcohol in Langkawi as it is a duty free island!!!
XOXO
