We paid a quick visit inside Església de Santa Maria del Consol d'Altea,
and from there,
we walked down the main street,
Carrer Major
which links the Portal Vell gate to the Church Square.
We visited Mirador Glorieta del maño,
then further down to Mirador....
and yes,
the streets there were really narrow!
From there,
we went to Torre De Bellaguarda....
which was this
little amazing tower....
This tower was actually located inside this
CA Xotxim,
a holiday apartment rental "area",
that's why it was kinda challenging for us to find it.
After such a long day of walking,
we decided to treat ourselves
to the most expensive paella we have ever had!
**Paella with lobster!!!**
The taste was good,
and the service at this restaurant Chez Pierre was also great!
Highly recommended!
After the delicious meal,
we returned to our apartment by bus.
The next day,
on our sixth day of the trip,
we started the day with throwing rubbish
(of course we also recycled even though we were traveling!)
then we walked around the neighbourhood....
across the Parc de L'Aigüera park....
local residencial area
**seemed like the local there was pretty good with recycling**
We stopped at a local bakery
for some snacks and a break from walking.
Then we went to the beach for sunset
and took a quick toe dip in the Mediterranean at Benidorm
Yes, in January, which is winter in Europe!
For dinner,
we went to this very local place,
Pollo Expresss....
everything we passed by,
it smelled SO GOOD!
So we wanted to give it a try!
The food was in big portion,
taste was also great,
and the chicken was surprisingly juicy
with crispy grilled skin!
-Day 7-
We explored another small city near to Benidorm,
La Vila Joiosa....
(in Spanish, it means the joyful town)
From Creueta tram station,
we walked to the Puente Antiguo de Villajoyosa
(the beautiful historic multi‑span stone masonry arch bridge bridge)....
then Cases Penjants de la Vila Joiosa
**the “Hanging Houses” of La Vila Joiosa,
which is a row of historic homes in the old town
built right on the edge of the Amadorio River gorge
then passed by the
Muralles de la Vila Joiosa...
We walked past even more colourful old houses
before reaching Platja de Villajoyosa,
**the beach.
To be continued....
XOXO
