From the beach,I followed the tips from Google Maps,
and got to this mural area behind the beautiful Les Cases de Colors...
There was this little Chihuahua who was so sociable and friendly....
he just wanted to play with us!
From there,
we returned to the beach,
and walked towards Benidorm.
To me, the mural of colourful Villajoyosa
splashed across a bare-brick backstreet wall...
looks prettier than the real thing.
From the beach,
we ended up at the port...
and besides the port,
there was this very rich residential area....
and the Bou Ferrer,
a historical large ship that sank and now protected....
but not in-door?
**Ok, may be this ship we saw was not El Bou Ferrer lol!
We had a small break at
Chiringuito Restaurante Nuevo Varadero
then continued the 12 km- walking trip back to Benidorm.
Unfortunately,
we couldn’t walk along the coast,
so we took a few footpaths,
which meant climbing some stairs.
The best thing about taking these footpaths was the view....
from higher up,
we could see how clear the sea was,
the landscape around,
so on and so forth....
Of course,
more uphill also meant more downhill.
We walked past parks like
Parc para perros,
Parc de la Tellerola....
before reaching this Torre de Sant Josep,
around the rich residential area....
We at first thought of taking public transport
or even taxi home....
BUT nothing to be found there!
So we had to take this hiking area,
Pista de senderisme del Torres a l'Aguiló,
then Sender de la Costa,
Cova Edwards....
The landscape was simply spectacular,
and we enjoyed our hike...
**although it was more than 4km!!!
We arrived at Cala Fonda,
then from there,
we walked towards the nearest tram station,
which was Hospital Vila.
We walked past a lot of very local residential area,
areas that looked like totally abandoned,
tangerin/ clementine plantations,
lemon plantations....
After more than 10km walk,
we finally arrived at Hospital Vila!
and the moment we arrived at Benidorm,
ALL we needed was cold beer
and food!
We simply chose this
Cafèteria Benard,
because it was close to the tram station
and open!!
**We were there way too early for typical Spanish dinnertime.
Of course,
the Christmas decoration was still there,
and we had the whole place for ourselves!
That's our 6th Day of the trip,
with almost 20000 steps,
15.5km!!
-Day 7-
It was kinda unplanned,
but we ended up with crazy hike again!
We first thought of walking through
another side of the city....
which seemed to be more british+
night life area....
then all of a sudden,
we were so near to La Cruz de Benidorm...
So we decided to keep walking,
since it was "nearby" :)
What we didn not think through
was the uphill part of the hike
again!
The place,
La Cruz de Benidorm is famous for the big cross,
and from where we started walking,
it seemed so near yet so far.....
The views were amazing along the way,
and we saw some interesting things
like amazing bungalows facing the sea
and a car just lying there.
God knows how that happened!
After almost 45-minute of walking,
we finally reached
La Cruz de Benidorm....
BUT not the top yet!
