04-12-2018 Bong & Family Trip in Bratislava (Day 7- Day trip in the old town)

Our first destination of Day 2
in Bratislava is
the Bratislava Castle...
Based on Google Map,
we needed to walk
15 minutes from our hotel to the castle...
However,
the uphill stairway to the hilltop
was quite challenging...
It is a rather interesting shortcut I must say,
right besides those on the hills villas
and all of the sudden,
we just popped out of nowhere....
It looked like the castle
was just a few meters in front of us.
We followed the tram route
and also where most the tourist buses headed.
Ta da!
We arrived at the Bratislava Castle
(Bratislavský hrad)!
The castle itself
is HUGE...
It is located at the hilltop,
and we always saw it
when we took trams/buses which were driving along the river...
The view from there was just breathtaking...
We could see Bratislava in 360,
from another side of Danau river
to the old town of Bratislava....
Since we are not the kind of person
who want to spend
either money or time
looking at castle...
we moved on,
took another road town
to the old city of Bratislava...
This time it was downhill,
so it was much easier for the old people :)
Just a short time,
we reached 'the ground'
which is super near to the bridge
where the famous UFO building is located at...
From there,
we had to cross this bridge above the highway
to the old town...
First,
we came to Medieval City Walls
Right beside the city walls
is this amazing
St. Martin's Cathedral...
We did spend some time in the church,
not for praying,
but for resting...
After that we walked towards the
'center of Old Town'...
where you could find more tourist attractions
and not also restaurants,
souvenir shops...
etc etc.
Pappa mamma were tired of walking...
so they chose to rest
at a small cafe...
and of course,
had their toilet time too...
Hehe!
Meanwhile Arne and I had
our sight-seeing tour...
It was so interesting to see those cars
managed to drive through this tiny passage...
The very famous,
Man at work....
and they even have a sign for him!
How cute!
Not too far from the the municipal fortification gate,
we saw this chinese buffet restaurant...
and without much hesitation,
we knew this was the place for lunch!
The food was pretty ok
and it was cheap!
So we had a super heavy and satisfying lunch...
and then continued
the sight-seeing again...
We came to the main square
(Hlavné námestie)
Roland's Fountain
(Maximiliánova fontána).....
Napoleon's Army Soldier
(Napoleonský vojak)
and we decided,
it was time to go back to the hotel
and take a good rest...
On our way to the nearest tram station,
we walked pass this catholic
Church of the Annunciation
and many other
nice buildings,
statues
and street arts...
We were lucky enough
to try another tram line,
which went through the tunnel as well!
Not to forget,
we were greeted by them when we came back...
In the evening,
we went to Kamenné nám tram station,
which is right beside a big Tesco...
We walked around the neighborhood
and found a nice local vietnamese restaurant,
Ázijské bistro
for our dinner...
We had to try their local beer,
and the food was so big portion
that pappa mamma had to share...
The evening had to end early
after so much walking
and sight-seeing....

To be continued...
XOXO
