Our next stop,
was this Checkpoint Charlie,
not Charlie's Beach...
(Though it looked really fun and exciting inside)
But before we started walking around the area,
the one that captured my attention
was KFC first!!!!
After filling our stomach with
delicious KFC,
then we continued the sight-seeing...
From there,
we walked to The Remains of Berlin Wall....
This museum is just a short walk from Check Point Charlie
and it is free....
Even though it was free entry,
but both of us are not really interested in history...
So we spent like 10 minutes there
taking some pictures...
then left and walked towards
Potsdamer Platz...
I was interested in the nice buildings
but Arne was more interested in
Mall of Berlin...
So yes,
we went for shopping instead...
lol!
After the shopping,
we went back to hotel...
had a short break,
then it was time to go out again...
We took the subway
and arrived at
Schlesisches Tor....
We were not sure what was so special
about this place
but people were queuing up there...
The area is pretty
'interesting'
and it is another side of Berlin that we had yet to see...
We crossed Oberbaum Bridge
(Oberbaumbrücke)...
and on the bridge itself
there was so many interesting stuffs
going on...
and came to
this East Side Gallery....
It is a conserved graffiti project
covering part of the Berlin Wall
and you can even get stamping here
(Not sure how it worked though....)
After visiting East Side Gallery,
we walked back to Schlesisches Tor...
and found this place,
Singh Indian Street Food
for our dinner!
The weather was just lovely
and the food tasted great!
After the dinner,
we rushed back to the hotel
to buy some more stuffs
to fill up our luggage....
Not just that,
we also had an interesting walk that night!
The next day morning,
we checked out our room
then spent some time walking in the neighborhood...
From DIN-Platz
(historical landmark)
to Rosa Luxemburg Memorial...
We walked around the
Tiergarten park...
found a nice place to
have our short 'picnic'....
then visited
Michael Jackson Baum Berlin...
Spent like 15 minutes
watching how a swan fought against
the current of the water....
looked a bit
at the Zoo Berlin....
and lastly.
visited the inside of
Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church....
We picked up our luggage from hotel,
took a local train to the airport...
had a very last
german sausage
lol~
and headed back home!
That's all for our Easter 2019 trip
in Germany!
XOXO
