After visiting Plakaki viewpoint,
we continued the ride to Andronios Wells.
According to Google Maps,
it is a 4.1 star tourist attraction!
And yes,
we did see some wells,
**Certainly with great history but not really our things....
Other than that,
there were many old
grapes and olive trees too!
Our next stop was Damianos Cave,
and that was another 10-minute ride from Andronious Wells.
We had to park the four-wheel drive
at a restaurant area,
and then walk to the cave.
We discovered many interesting plants along
the pathway to the cave...
Although the pathway wasn't super narrow,
it was still a bit scary for me as one had nothing to hold on to,
and it was quite high from the ground.
From the cave,
we could also see the Agalas viewpoint...
After visiting Damianos Cave,
we continued our ride to the next stop.
We passed through some small villages, such as Agalas,
and savored the rich historical ambiance throughout the journey,
like this pretty Agalas church!
While riding in the four-wheel drive,
we could truly grasp the vast expanse of the olive plantations that covered the island!
Next stop,
an unplanned one - Koiliomenos.
It is a settlement on the island,
and we had to stop there because it was so pretty,
and it was also too hot for us to ride for that long!
We walked around the Church of St. Nikolaos,
and visited some shops selling local products such as olive oils and soaps...
After a break around 15-20 minutes.
the ride continued....
This time,
it was this Korakonisi bay that brought us there,
with the spectacular view,
stone bridge formation,
and "walking" experience!
To come to the bay,
one has to use this rocky,
scary pathway!!
Before we left this amazing place,
we decided to have a break with a chilling drink!
Next stop:
the Old Olive Tree.
and this time,
we passed through another small town
called Ag. Leon.
It was quite a lot
to see around there, not just the old olive tree lol!
**Reviews on Google map say
the tree has been more than 2000 years old!
There was many nice local shops...
and we bought a nice bottle of local wine
(after trying many different one! lol)
After some shopping,
we also had lunch there,
at this Tabepna Cafe + Bar!
Not only that the food was great there,
we were all the time accompanied by cute dogs!!!
Greek salat and
Souvlaki!!
And we got this for dessert!!!
Again, on the house of course!
After the meal,
it was time to continue to ride....
and this destination was something Arne absolutely wanted to see!
We first arrived at this very small cosy village,
named Loucha.
Then I asked Arne to stop for a while,
so that I could have a quick glance
at Loucha church :)
After following the sign
and passing through some houses,
I finally found it!
Then the four-wheel ride continued again,
to a smaller residential area
with narrower streets....
XOXO
